Tech Skills

Operating Systems:

  • I prefer to use Windows, but I’m also familiar with Linux sytems.
  • I have some experience in shell scripting using Power Shell and bash.

Programming:

  • I mainly write in Python using an object oriented approach. I frequently use the libraries NumPy, SciPy, matplotlib, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, librosa, and various packages from the standard library.
  • I have some experience with Lua in the context of the digital audio workstation Reaper.
  • I know a bit of C++ and I’d like to learn more, eventually.

Databases:

  • I’m proficient in writing SQL queries. I have worked with SQLite3 and PostgreSQL.
  • I’m familiar with relational database design and normalization to 3rd normal form.
  • I have a general understanding of Data Warehousing and NoSQL solutions and I plan to expand my knowlegde.

Software Engineering:

  • I’ve been using Git and GitHub for version control.
  • I’ve started to integrate systematic unit testing using the pytest framework into my work flow.
  • I have learned about Scrum and DevOps principles and I’m looking forward to practice them professionally.

Cloud Services:

  • I’m currently familiarizing myself with the Amazon/AWS ecosystem. I eventually plan to use it to host this website and to add interactive features.

Others:

  • I have been using LaTeX for many years to produce scientific texts, presentations, and other documents.
  • If need be, I know how to push Microsoft Word and Excel quite far, but I prefer to use other tools.
